Being a firefighter is a very tough job that would require a lot of training. If one would want to become a fireman, then not only must he be physically fit, but he also has to be physically strong, mentally alert, mobile, and very agile in order to handle emergency situations. It is for this reason that the veteran firefighters must always think of good fire department training ideas so that they can train the newbies to become the next batch of heroes.
Now in order to officially start the session, the seniors will have to make sure that each and everyone is physically fit. If one is not physically fit, then he will not be able to act properly when there is a real situation. So the first part of any training session would be a body workout that would strengthen the muscles and stamina.
After the full body workout, the next thing that the seniors will be asking the newcomers to do would be to practice putting on the uniform and the gear. This is extremely important because newbies have to practice changing fast. When the alarm signals that there is an emergency, they have to put on the gear fast and waste no time because lives may be lost.
Once they have put on their uniforms, they will now be taught how to get the equipment ready quickly. Now as they do this exercise, the seniors will be timing how fast it takes for them to slide down the pole and get everything ready. Once they are in the truck, then the exercise will end.
Of course they also have to properly know how to handle the equipment. The most important equipment to think about would be none other than the hose. The firefighters have to learn how to attach two long hoses together and attach the end of the hose to a hydrant really fast.
After the seniors have already gotten the newbies accustomed to these types of exercises, then the seniors will try to take them by surprise. They will do this by performing fire drills which will make the newbies think that there is an actual fire. From there, the seniors will test how the newbies would really react in a situation.
After a few drills, they will then be exposed to an actual situation. The seniors will arrange for the newcomers to have a fire simulation to give them a taste of what handling a real fire is like. This is for the seniors to see if the newbies are actually ready to face actual fires or emergencies.
Basically, they will run through the whole process of suiting up, getting the equipment ready, and driving to the site. The trainer will direct them to the site where they are supposed to be and the newcomers will have to drive there. After that, they will be put in the situation where they would have to put out the fire without the help of the trainers.
